There are times when some applications on our phones tend to be a hassle to us and when we decide to uninstall these apps, we can’t; because the apps are system apps.
On most android phones, the only liable option will be to either freeze or disable these applications. But don’t you wish you could do more than just disable it? Maybe completely end that app by uninstalling it.

If you decide to do a quick google search on this issue, you might just get one particular popular response “root your android phone”. Although rooting your phone grants you this permission and more, it still is a pretty risky road to take, once you do it wrong, that ends your phone.
Now this brings up the question, “Can you uninstall system apps on your android phone without rooting it?” the answer is yes, yes you can. All you need do is follow the simple steps highlighted below.
REQUIREMENTS
Before doing anything, there are some things you’ll be needing for this
1. An android phone (normally)
2. A Laptop/Computer
3. Universal Android Debloater (UAD)
4. Developer options enabled (on android phone)
5. Turn on USB Debugging
HOW TO TURN ON DEVELOPER OPTIONS
So for this little trick of uninstalling system apps to workout, you’ll need to turn on/enable developer options via your phone’s settings. Just follow these simple steps.
1. Open the settings app on your phone (most times, it’s the application on your phone with the gear U+FE0F/U+2699 icon
2. Search or look for ‘About Phone’ or ‘My Phone’. This option is at most times, the first.
3. Scroll down to find ‘Build number’ tap seven times, repeatedly on this option
4. After the seventh tap, on phones with a lower android version, you should see a pop up message reading ‘You are now a developer’ while on most phones with a higher android version, like ‘Android 11’ you will be prompted to input your password/pin, after which the ‘You are now a developer’ message pops up.
HOW TO TURN ON USB DEBUGGING
1. Open developer options
2. Scroll to ‘Debugging’ section
3. Turn on USB Debugging
4. Connect your android phone to your PC using a USB cord
5. Now, Allow debugging on your phone
UNIVERSAL ANDROID DEBLOATER (UAD)
Previous steps above had to be performed on your phone; now let us come to the laptop/computer.
On your PC (Personal Computer), download and install UAD.
WHAT IS UAD?
The UAD is a computer software that allows a user to debug android apps and also analyze the behaviours they exhibit during their runtime.
But for the purpose of this article, UAD will be used to only disable and/or uninstall system apps on your android phone.
HOW TO UNINSTALL SYSTEM APPS USING UAD
1. Launch UAD on your PC and click on ‘Reboot
3. Now a long list of app package name will appear, if you do not know the package name of the app you wish to uninstall is, just do a quick google search and once you’ve found it, look for the same package name on the list or just input the package name in the search bar
4. For my example I will be uninstalling ‘Phoenix Browser’ which has the package name ‘com.transsion.phoenix’
HOW TO RESTORE SYSTEM APPS USING UAD
1. Click on ‘Enabled’ and from the dropdown menu, select ‘Uninstalled’
2. Now click ‘Restore’ and the same uninstalled app is back
Not all system apps are meant to be uninstalled, removing a vital system app can cause your phone to misbehave. The good news is that you can easily restore the same app to fix the problem.
